News and Updates on Mattel Adventure Park (Arizona)
Epic Resort Destinations is opening a new theme park and resort just outside Phoenix in Glendale, Arizona. The Mattel Adventure Park where all the 80s and 90s kids can relive their childhood!
Mattel Adventure Park was not only announced in 2021, but broke ground the same year. The opening date was supposed to be 2022, but has been delayed several times for various reasons.
The park is set to feature two Hot Wheels roller coasters as well as attractions from the following IPs:
- Masters of the Universe
- Barbie
- Hot Wheels
- Thomas & Friends
- Uno
- KerPlunk
- Other Mattel Games

November 2024 Updates
Epic Resort Destinations has announced a delay to the opening of the park. Instead of opening at the end of 2024, it’s now aiming towards the end of 2025.
While several of the attractions and buildings are being built or area in progress, the company decided to expand from it’s initial plans. This affects hospitality, dining and other areas of the resort.
The approvals for the new development zoning was given by Glendale’s planning and zoning commission in October 2024.
