Universal Orlando’s Maps Go Digital

If you’re one of those people who like to have a physical map in hand while visiting a theme park, you’re going to be out of luck at Universal Orlando.

As of 1 January 2024, Universal Orlando phased out paper maps in favor for the digital maps found within the Universal Orlando app.

Maps Offered in Multiple Languages

In the locations guests used to be able to pick up paper maps, Universal has placed signs with QR codes. Currently there are 3 language choices which include English, Spanish and Portuguese. It’s unclear if Universal is thinking about adding more of the worlds popular languages such as German, French or Mandarin in the future.

Benefits of Universal Orlando’s App

Of course, the app has more features than just the digital map. In addition, you will be able to access:

  • Ride wait times
  • Set alerts for when wait times are low
  • List of closed attractions
  • Show times
  • Set a parking reminder
  • Connect your credit card for easy in app purchases
  • Use mobile dining at select restaurants
  • Create a park to-do list
  • Park announcements
  • Special offers and events

Compared to other park apps, the Universal Orlando app is packed with useful features and is (in my opinion) very easy to use.

What if I Need a Paper Map?

If for some reason you prefer a paper map, or need one due to special needs, you have the option to print the map(s) you need at home.

On the Maps for universal Orlando Theme Parks page of the Universal website, you will find all of the park’s maps.
