The Big Apple Coaster

Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world. Every hotel along the Las Vegas Strip has a different theme and some even have attractions within the hotel and casino. The Big Apple Coaster is one of those attractions that Sin City offers those who want to take a break from gambling.

What is The Big Apple Coaster?

Originally known as the Manhattan Express, the roller coaster by manufacturer Togo, opened on the same day as the New York New York hotel (January 1997).

The coaster rolls along a 4,777 foot track (1,456 meter) track and has a 180 foot (55m) lift hill. The first drop is 76 feet (23 meters). It also has 2 loops, a vertical loop and a dive loop. It was developed by MGM and Primdonna resorts and cost a cool $18 million dollars.

In 2007, after some adjustments by Premier Rides, the coaster was renamed to one of the most original coaster names of all times: The Roller Coaster.

It changed its name again to Big Apple Coaster in 2013, which remains it’s name today.

The Queue System of The Big Apple Coaster

You’ll find the queue for the coaster in the New York New York hotel, up in the arcade area. Once you’re in the arcade, follow the roller coaster arrows on the floor to the beginning of the queue.
