Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, located at Walt Disney World, is replacing Splash Mountain in 2024. During this updated Princess and the Frog ride, you’ll drift down the river in a musical adventure.

This brand new adventure is slated to open on 28 June 2024!

Note: for the opening of the ride, a standby line will not be available. Riders will have to get in on a virtual queue which will open daily at 7am and 1pm. Purchasing a Lightning Lane pass will also be an option for getting on this newly refurbished ride!

About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Replacing Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will allow you to encounter friends from the film Princess and the Frog.

The attraction will feature the same river path as well as drops and splashes as the old Splash Mountain. The updates include the theme, animatronics and sets, as well as the music.

Where is the Ride Located?

This river ride will be located in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disneyworld.

What Kind of Ride is the Bayou Adventure?

This is a river log ride. Riders sit in a log which runs along a river. There are drops and splashes included in the ride.

How Many Guests Can Fit On the Ride?

Each log boat can fit up to 8 riders in a 2 seat configuration.

Are There Restraints on the Ride?

This log ride will feature a lap bar covered in orange foam.

Are There Height Restrictions?

Riders must be at least 102cm (40 inches) tall or taller to go on this river adventure.

How Long Does the Ride Last?

This section will be updated when we know if the ride goes faster or slower than the former Splash Mountain. However, Splash Mountain took roughly 12 minutes to complete once riders were boarded.

Can Guests Bring Bags on Board?

Yes, guests can bring their bags into the boat. They can secure it between their feet on the floor. Please note that bags and personal belongings set on the floor could get damp or wet.

Is There a Single Rider Line?

Is Genie+ or Lightening Lane Available for the ride?

WDW has announced that Lightening Lane will be available from the opening of the refurbished ride.

I absolutely can’t wait until this opens! Princess and the Frog is one of my favorite Disney cartoons!
